Job Description We are looking for a friendly pet groomer to perform all grooming-related duties necessary to ensure that pets are neat, clean, and look their best.
The groomer's responsibilities may include bathing animals of various sizes and temperaments (we have an assistant) , trimming, clipping, or shaving hair/fur, nail trims, and removing matted hair.
You should also be able to ensure that your grooming tools and equipment are in good working condition.
To be successful you must be able to listen to pet owners instructions as well as accommodate any special requests while keeping the safety of the pet in the forefront.
Ultimately, a top-notch Pet Groomer will treat all animals with the utmost love and care.
Responsibilities for groomer Ensure wellness and safety of pets.
Minimal de-matting and detangling hair.
We do not comb out seriously matted dogs.
Bathing, drying, trimming nails, anal glad expression, and ear plucking/cleaning.
Noting any medical issues and bringing them to the attention of the medical staff.
Occasionally perform routine cleaning of grooming area including cages.
May provide guidance to Groomer Assistant to ensure their duties are performed safely and up to standards of PRVH expectations, general health/safety needs.
Open communication with supervisor and perform bathing and grooming following pet parent instruction, put in charges groomers notes and call pet parent for pick up.
Every pet that doesn't have a photo in the system must have one taken and emailed to PRVH.
Qualifications for groomer Must have good knowledge of grooming equipment and products and sound understanding of animal behavior.
Treat animals with compassion and care.
Have the ability to lift (anything 50lbs or larger will require 2 people) Must be friendly, outgoing, people oriented and have good clear communication skills.
Must know enough about general animal care to be able to answer non-medical client questions and to inform them their pet's needs.
Candidates must be reliable and have own transportation and have basic computer skills.
